New sponsors back the Voyager Media Awards

Ongoing support for the Voyager Media Awards
New sponsors including NZ on Air and the Asia New Zealand Foundation have added their support to the Voyager Media Awards.
NZ on Air will sponsor a new category, Broadcast Reporter of the Year, and Best team investigation while the Asia New Zealand Foundation will sponsor the Best junior reporter category.
Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design will sponsor Best artwork/graphics(including interactive/motion graphics). Feroz Ali, owner and chairman of Whitecliffe said the college was proud to be associated with the Voyager Media Awards and the level of excellence that the awards recognised and celebrated.
Other new agreements include printing and distribution company PMP (NZ) Ltd which will sponsor Magazine of the Year and BusinessNZ which will sponsor Business Journalist of the Year.
Canon New Zealand, a longstanding supporter of the awards, will sponsor the photographic and videography categories.
nib New Zealand have renewed their supporting sponsorship for the awards and details of the nib health journalism scholarships will be released tomorrow. AUT will again sponsor Student Journalist of the Year. The winner of this category will receive a $1000 prize from AUT.
ASB, a sponsor for the past two years, has signed a new agreement to sponsor Editorial Executive of the Year and Community Newspaper of the Year.
Two television networks, Mediaworks (Newshub) and Maori Television have continued their support as have RNZ.
Other supporting sponsors include the NPA (Newspaper Publishers’ Association); Bauer Media: PMCA (Print Media Copyright Agency); Meridian Energy, which sponsors the Environmental/Sustainability Award; Science Media Centre, which sponsors the Science and Technology Award; Etu; and Cordis, Auckland.

The awards are staged by the Newspaper Publishers’ Association with Voyager Internet as the premier sponsor. Voyager sponsors Website of the Year, Reporter of the Year and Newspaper of the Year.
The media awards entry website will open at midday on Friday, December 14, 2018 and close at 11pm on Wednesday February 13, 2019. Details of new and existing categories for the 2019 awards will be released next week.
Winners will be announced at the 2019 Voyager Media Awards gala dinner on Friday, May 17, 2019, at Cordis, Auckland.
